The most unexpected result to come out of day 9 of the State of Florida v. George Zimmerman, the day the State finished presenting its witnesses, was not Trayvon Martins mothers claim that it was her sons screams heard on the 911 call. That was to be expected.
The rambling, occasionally absurd testimony of medical examiner Shiping Bao did not surprise, either. Nor did defense attorney Mark OMaras cogent appeal that Zimmerman be acquitted given the States failure to make a convincing case of his guilt.
What was most intriguing, at least from the perspective of how the media corrupted this case, was the States failure to call Witness No. 5, Mary Cutcher, the most visible and outspoken of all the eyewitnesses.
The State did call her roommate, a blonde Colombian named Selma Mora. As Mora admitted, she and Cutcher did not see anything until after the shot was fired. When Mora did look out, she saw Zimmerman on top of Martin.
This revelation may have fired up the uninformed, but it only confirmed what Zimmerman told the Sanford PD that first night about the sequence of events.
At this point, Zimmerman said about the moment after the shot was fired, I slid out from underneath him and got on top of the suspect holding his hands away from his body.
Zimmerman never said otherwise. What made Moras testimony worth discussing is not what she said, but that the State chose her to say it. The prosecution did not call Cutcher.
In the 6-week-long hysteria between Martins shooting and Zimmermans arrest, Cutcher was everywhere. It was she who floated the theme that the police were ignoring those eyewitnesses whose testimony challenged Zimmermans innocence..................

They couldn’t call Trayvon?
Ever other part of the prosecution was contrived.
Why can’t the defense call her?
Maybe they can arrange a Skype call with Trayvon.
They killed him off by stipulation just before he was to appear.
why not get the equivalent of Trayvon’s testimony from 0bama. After all, if Trayvon had a father, he would look like 0bama.
They can but probably won't because she adds nothing as she is such a dimwit.
I'm sure she had her hair and nails done and her special outfit picked out for her big appearance and is fuming mad that, once again, she's been dissed and this time by those who she thought needed her ever-changing story.
The defense CAN call her.
Why would the defense want to break into jail?

Why is the “Get Off, Get Off” part not subornation of perjury???
She says the phone shut off and then after Bernie’s perpetual prompting she comes up with a little “Get Off, Get Off” AFTER the phone shut off.
I guess the prostitution was afraid the roommate would claim to have seen everything.
why/can’t the defense call an obvious eye witness? seems like justice won’t be done if you can’t call an eyewitness.
never mind, i read more of the article...
“Can’t” sounded as though the defense was not allowed to, the way it was put. Have a blessed Sunday!
I’m confused - she looks Swedish.
Quick question...can the defense call Poppa Martin and ask him if he recognized the screams.
Why do that? He’ll say Trayvon, then they’ll have to call the cops to say he’s changed his story, then they’ll all yell “liar” at each other, and nothing will be accomplished. Calling him doesn’t accomplish anything.
That’s Trayvon Benjamin Martin to you sir. Or if you would like you can call him Tray like they do in Da Hood.
