I still have my GROL. The test was pretty tough when I took it back in the mid 90’s (and I studied for weeks for it). Ask me to remember any of it now and I’d be pretty lost. I do still have all my books and materials though, so I could refresh as necessary.
I might take the GROL after I pass the Extra. The extra is quite hard and you have to know the ins and outs of transmission/reception. A tech license should take an hour to study for with the link I provided. It’s a pretty easy test, and anyone can go local for $40 with a Baofeng off of Amazon or international with the Echolink app.
