But I sure wish that they had said “Men with guns”, or something like that. The word “drunks” paints them as clowns, and their (important) message gets diluted.
Probably done that way to provide more intimidation.
A drunk redneck with a loaded gun...
Remember, they were in a very real and very bad situation.
