Morsi Spurned Deals, Seeing Military as Tamed

EXCERPTS

The foreign minister said he was acting as an emissary of Washington, the advisers said, and he asked if Mr. Morsi would accept the appointment of a new prime minister and cabinet, one that would take over all legislative powers and replace his chosen provincial governors.

(snip)

His top foreign policy adviser, Essam el-Haddad, then left the room to call the United States ambassador, Anne W. Patterson, to say that Mr. Morsi refused. When he returned, he said he had spoken to Susan E. Rice, the national security adviser, and that the military takeover was about to begin, senior aides said.

“Mother just told us that we will stop playing in one hour,” an aide texted an associate, playing on a sarcastic Egyptian expression for the country’s Western patron, “Mother America.”

(snip)

Mr. Morsi’s advisers had meetings with Ms. Patterson and her deputy as well as a phone call with Ms. Rice, the national security adviser. Mr. Morsi’s advisers argued that ousting the president would be “a long term disaster” for Egypt and the Arab world because people would “lose faith in democracy.” They said it would set off an explosion in the streets that they could not control.

And they argued that the United States was implicated: “Nobody who knows Egypt is going to believe a coup could go forward without a green light from the Americans.”

A MB takeover and Islamification of Egypt is a democratic event, but a correction to that course by the military that allowed the election is a coup? I think not. The first one was a coup, removing the MB is a patriotic act.

Zero is the only one making false claims. He has supported the Muslim Brotherhood all during his Arab Spring.

Is this a flat denial? As we have learned, a ‘flat denial’ from the White Hut actually means: ‘Yeah yer right. So what?’.

Obama backing ElBaradei?

Beirut — According to well-connected Washington sources, including a Congressional staffer whose job description includes following political events in Egypt, once it became evident that Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi might well be ousted by Egypt’s Supreme Council of the Armed Forces (SCAF), it did not take Mohamed Mustafa ElBaradei, the Sharia legal scholar, Nobel Peace Prize Laureate, and for 12 years (1997-2009) the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) very long to contact the Washington, DC law firm of Patton Boggs. That was this past Tuesday.

Yeah, but since the Obama "White House" is a proven liar, these claims are worthless.

They can claim that they are the most ethical, transparent, bunch of unicorn riding good guys all they want. Their actions and words have shown them to be invertible scheming liars and cowards who will run away from the truth like a vampire fleeing sunshine. Actions have consequences.

the Obama administration released a statement reiterating that the US was "not aligned with, and does not support, any particular Egyptian political party or group".

So this pinhead administration wouldn't have any problem with Mubarak taking back over, right? Wishful thinking on my part, he was probably disemboweled hours after being whisked away.

Right. The U.S. does not, but King Zero is doing all he can behind the scenes to support his friends in the MB.

When did “the White House” get any credibility? Right now, most Americans see “the White House” as the biggest bunch of liars to ever come down the pike.

One of the results of lying in our faces is realizing that nothing you say
can be taken as truth, Obama and Co.

The USA meddles/interferes in just about everything, everywhere these days... Because we still can. Probably not for long, however. The Empire is getting way over-extended in arrogance by its leaders.

Breaking its recent silence over events in Cairo, the Obama administration released a statement reiterating that the US was "not aligned with, and does not support, any particular Egyptian political party or group".

Conveniently after setting up the current regime. I guess that makes them "for Morsi and the MB" before they weren't for anyone...their philosophy on the issue appears to be devolving. Soon, Obama won't even have known that Egypt existed until he saw the unrest on television.
