Thanks. My phone/internet has been OTS for several days due to lightning strike and burn our of equipment at the phone company's main junction box several miles away.
Hence the slow response.
Are you familiar with a "Wing Slip" or a "Wing Slide" ?
Some pilots will use this to get rid of a lot of altitude fast and still make the approach, but it requires a very experienced pilot.

Is that were a pilot yaws the plane around a little so the lifting shape of the wing is less effective?
If so, I hope this flight crew was not trying get that fancy. The approach at SFO should be void of such dramatics since it is so straight forward.
