I am not sure but correct me if I am wrong but I think GE now has the exclusive to build those engines for the 777 now.
When the 777 was first developed and built it was P&W.

When the 777 was first developed and built it was P&W.Unless the procedure has changed, the builder doesn't spec the engines. They just build the airframe and install whatever engines the customer specs. So the only way one or other engine mfgr would have an "exclusive" is if they were the only one offering an engine of the proper size and type.
