The rapid collapse of ObamaCare
NY Post ^ | 7/6/13 | RICH LOWRY

Posted on 07/06/2013 3:51:57 AM PDT by Liz

It is rare indeed that both sides of Congress can agree on anything......so it is incredibly heartening that there is bipartisan agreement that the implementation of ObamaCare is a mess.

Jarrett: Obama apparatchik pretends nothing is going wrong.

..... there is no hiding the embarrassment of a climbdown on a high-profile feature of President Obama’s signature initiative. Although the administration was determined to do all it could to hide it. It was apparently planning to announce it on July 3 — only because the day before Thanksgiving (or Christmas Eve) was too far off.

The purported reason for the delay is incompetence. The administration’s story is that it simply couldn’t find a way to implement the insurance-reporting requirements on employers in the time-frame set out in the law. Merely as a side-effect, it had to put off the mandate and the $2,000 per-employee fine on employers with more than 50 employees who don’t offer health coverage.

Jarrett portrayed the decision as about “cutting red tape." “As we implement this law,” Jarrett explained, “we have and will continue to make changes as needed.” But the law is supposed to be the law, not optional suggestions from Congress.

In Jarrett’s view, ObamaCare is little more than warrant for the Obama administration to decide how it wants to run the American health-care system, one executive decision at a time.

They are purposely trying to collapse the system into having vast millions ending up on a single payer, totally government system. No private insurance at all.

Obama admitted years ago that was his ultimate goal. It’s on tape. This current debacle is nothing but a pit stop on the way there. SOMEONE has to stop this runaway train. Also Medicare and Medicaid and EVERYTHING folded into one, massive communist system.

And it isn’t really about health care. It’s about total government control of us, from which we can never escape.

Yes. No way this type of article would be allowed in the NY Times. People would lose their job.

I’m getting tired of Republicans clicking their heels over Obamacare’s “collapse.” That was the plan all along. It isn’t like things will just go back to the way they were as the new system collapses - this will create an actual crisis, leading to Democrat cries for single payer as the only solution. The GOP, of course, will author and sponsor the Single Payer Act.

THE GOP will NEVER get rid of ObamaCARE.

Why? THEY invented it, and are NOT even under its yoke.

Revolt is coming.

I sure hope so...I am SO ready to do something concrete to put a dent in this destruction of my country by a relative few. I envied those people in Tahrir Square - at least envied them taking back power - who knows what will actually come of it- doubtful any true democracy. But I think Obama is HOPING that we do that here - actually pushing us to take to the streets so he can use those hollow-tipped bullets he’s been amassing. We’ll see what the midterms bring, I guess. But we CANNOT sit by and allow our country to be trashed any longer!!!

the implementation of ObamaCare is a mess

Maybe it would be less of a mess if the Congressmen who passed it into law had bothered to read it.

Anyone who thinks Obamacare is going away...really needs to stop firing up that bong too much

Can anyone name ONE major piece of legislation ever passed that was ever repealed wholesale...except prohibition...?

This boondoggle POS legislation will be revised and nitpicked until it is more incoherent than it is now...

At some point...people and their doctors will simply ignore the law and work out their own deals..
