inflection point

Not too long ago FreeRepublic fell on the side of the police but we hit an inflection point on that. The police have become the public face of tyranny. And now they're increasingly implementing automated law enforcement, for their personal safety and financial convenience. Welcome to the future.

What possible reason could a Governor have for that kind of driving? States don’t deal in urgent emergencies that require the presence of a Governor. If they ever did, this modern era of communications had utterly ended the need to drive like an ass.

Even though State police driving the Governor think they are bulletproof and ten feet tall, they are sharing the roads with unpredictable 17 year old girls, pedestrians, the elderly who turn up where you don’t expect them going 20 below the speed limit, and others who don’t realize they are sharing the road with a celebrity VIP.

On that stretch of US 20, 90mph is a perfectly safe speed. Dead straight, 4 lane divided, controlled access, very light traffic.

Stuck in the east.

If you were in the Quad Cities, you nailed it.

Gov. Branstad is a Republican, in office 1983-1999 and 2011-present. There is nothing to indicate that he had anything to do with the trooper speeding. It is common knowledge that cops rarely ticket other cops.

"State Patrol started a pursuit, but backed off when they learned the SUV was being driven by a fellow officer and Governor Terry Branstad was a passenger."

“Governor Branstand and Lieutenant Governor Kim Reynolds said they weren’t aware of the event until Tuesday..."

I dunno. Sounds like another lying sociopath politician to me...
