Yeah what's up with that? We came into NM from AZ at Silver City, then through Deming over to I-25, then up and over toward White Sands, and way up there, there was a permanent ICE checkpoint with the scales and scanners and cameras, all of that. Why not just SECURE THE BORDER?

I have been through only one state checkpoint in NM, supposedly to check for tags on killed game during hunting season. What is the connection to "public safety" in that, anyone?

They built a permanent one up there???!!! I haven’t been through that area in a few years, but it wasn’t there before. Oh my....
