Egypt: Prosecutor’s Office Orders Arrest Of Muslim Brotherhood Leader

The Egyptian prosecutor’s office ordered the arrest of Muslim Brotherhood leader Mohammed Badie on charges of inciting violence outside the Republican Guard headquarters July 8, MENA reported July 10. The office also ordered the arrest of senior Brotherhood officials Mahmoud Ezzat, Essam el-Rian and Mohammed el-Beltagi
Egypt orders arrest of Muslim Brotherhood leader
Arrest warrants were issued for Muslim Brotherhood leader Mohammed Badie as well as his deputy, Mahmoud Ezzat, said a statement issued by the general prosecutors office on Wednesday. It added that 8 other Brotherhood members were ordered to be taken into custody.
Meanwhile, Egypts state TV reported that the prosecutor general had issued arrest warrants for top Brotherhood officials Safwat Hijazi and Essam el-Erian.
