Wisconsin Republican Gov. Scott Walker is refuting a local newspapers report that he has endorsed the Senate immigration reform bill. The governors office told the Weekly Standard: Governor Walker has not endorsed any specific policy.

I recall that ‘conservative’ position was taken on both the tax cut expiration (remember plan B ?) and the Senate version of VAWA which included added protections for gays and illegals.
This ‘position’ in both cases ended with the House (using Pelosi votes) passing BOTH Reid Senate bills AS IS to Obama’s desk.
So that ‘position’ was no magic solution. Still waiting to read why those were successes.
You and I know that Boehner and 20 RINO’s can bring a bill out if they wish with the Dems.
If the GOP unites and says NO BILL there’s NO BILL because they are a majority.
The legislative process takes over if there is a bill passed by the House and amnesty will then become law.
NO BILL OR WE GET AMNESTY....
You don’t want amnesty, right??????
I cant say what Walker is up here but fortunately he did diss the Senate bill. I assume like the others the ‘job creators’(2012 theme) are talking to him.
There is a need for high skill workers who will pay taxes but they are also claiming that we have too few low skill workers too, in spite of a historical high food stamp take, and libs complaining endlessly about the disparity in incomes in the USA.
The current system is broken and we cant trust the congress to fix it and we cant trust a POTUS to enforce a fix anyway.
That is the sad state.
Look, I don't trust Ryan on amnesty at all and when Levin and CO call him ‘my good friend’ it gives me the creeps.
But history has proved that House conservatives just saying NO and not providing serious alternatives in the house can lead to disaster: Bohner getting Pelosi votes to pass Senate bills giving her back the House control.
Every time this happens it shows Americans that the GOP shouldn't be trusted with anything and might as well vote Dem.
But the House GOP is busy producing its own Comprehensive Immigration Whopper. Plus I can't get a straight answer from House members what they want it to be.
Trey Gowdy is on the judiciary committee. I read a doubletalk response (written no doubt by an intern) to a freeper:
nation of immigrants Bla Bla
Our current immigration system is broken Bla Bla The process is too long Bla Bla
The border remains unsecured. Bla Bla
The visa program relied upon by our farmers is too onerous and cumbersome. Bla Bla
In addition, the immigration laws must be enforced. (As Obama and crew read the GOP Border Security parts and says "LMAO!!!")
Our congressional district has benefitted mightily from foreign investment and the legal immigration our country is rooted in. Bla bla
NOTE! No promise not to pass a path-to-citizenship
No bill to Obama’s desk certainly. But that doesn't mean no bill passed by house.
DA-DA,
How is Obama going to convince Dems to go for a bill that legalizes more workers without giving them the vote to all vote Dem? Voting is a huge rights issue with Dems.
They would rebel much like we have seen the GOP fracture.
I see citizenship as a great poison pill but I would add lots more, like NO unionization OWCH.
Conservatives have put the message out that no bill can pass
on immigration out of the House.
You toy with all those amendments in post 27 but why make a fuss because the Senate won’t take it, they will all be excised in conference and a final version will pass with a few GOP votes and all Democrat ones.
Then Obama gets to sign amnesty.
THE CONSERVATIVE POSITION REMAINS THAT THE HOUSE MUST NOT PASS ANY IMMIGRATION BILL.....
Unfortunately, to hear House GOP members, border security is a higher priority than stopping amnesty. I keep calling but I feel like I am getting the runaround.
Boehner is scheming as we speak and if he goes forward with a bill like his business special interest paymasters want him to, he’s kissing the conservative grassroots goodbye.
The GOP is leaving us.......
The “border security” is a have it both ways trojan horse since the big money and even smaller money is telling GOP politicians they want cheap labor.
They want to sucker people into supporting what the big money givers want the politicians to do.
The main question, to help partially determine where he stands should be:
Did he denounce it?
Lack of endorsement doesn’t mean he doesn’t support it...
Politicians parse their words with too much regularity and only few out there speak clearly.
I have posted before my firm belief that 90 percent plus of the elected Republicans at all levels are not authentically conservative.
*conservatives* huh ???
I has seen this same plan tried before ending in disaster, the Reid Senate bills on Obama’s desk..
Do your *conservatives* explain why it didn't work then but will work now? What has changed in a few months?
In this case Bohner can wait and if nothing is passed by the 2014 primaries he can just put the Senate bill up for a vote.
The primaries come different months in different states but what would be good is having third party candidates ready to go who will be an option in case of any last minute funny business.
My premise regarding elected Republicans is that 90 percent or more of them are phony and need replaced anyway.
Go after them in the primaries with conservative candidates and have a third party candidate ready to go if the incumbent RINO wins the primary.
I get the feeling that Rubio will be the 2016 nominee.
” Unfortunately, to hear House GOP members, border security is a higher priority than stopping amnesty. I keep calling but I feel like I am getting the runaround. “
Keep calling the SOB’s! I spent all day friday, doing this.
I did again today and said vote against both the senate and House immigration bills.
