According to Kerry, it was a secret mission, so secret no one knew about it. Kerry said Nixon personally authorized authorized it and Ordered Kerry into Cambodia. This was before Nixon was president. Everyone who was in Viet Nam at the time who has commented on it said it never happened.

In fact, you are exactly accurate, Kerry himself verbally stated that he was ordered into Cambodia in December 1968 by President Richard Nixon.

Funny because I was in the Navy at the time and my CIC was President Lyndon Johnson.
