Yeah mine too about 1660 near as I can tell. We are talking about people who climb over the rusty 2 strands of barbed wire instead of doing it the right way, the legal way. We are not talking about stopping legal immigrants just the illegal ones. Just the ones who swim the Rio Grande, that is where the term “wet back” came from, in case you don't know. I have watched them coming out of the river with all of their belongings in a bundle over their heads. Were they poor Mexicans just looking for a job or were they terrorists coming in the back door? We will never know will we?

In the course of my genealogy research I’ve found lots of legal recordings of ancestors immigrating to America including where they were headed once here, how long they intended to stay and what they intended to do. In fact Catholic immigration into the colonies and early nation was pretty restricted till about 1800.

I’m all for legitimate security, that’s a valid argument. But much of what I hear is something else. Guess what? A lot of these illegal immigrants are HELPING to keep prices down by doing the work nobody else will do in the crop fields for wages below the STUPID minimum wage which is a price and job killer.
