Not the point. As a civilian she shouldn’t be wearing military-issue ribbons (especially as a part of her official duties), which the chief readily admitted they are. They are not ribbons issued by or unique to law enforcement, which is the only kind she should be wearing.

I see it as just another example of the militarification of the domestic police. Gestapo wannabees love medals, dress uniforms, and all the pomp. That’s why the police refer to non-police as “civilians” when they themselves are civilians.

That is the point. How were they able to obtain these ribbons? Did they just walk into clothing sales go up to the military section and pick out a few??

If that is correct we have a problem!! (one of many)
