Agreed, which is why any mass democratic movement in Egypt or most other third world countries is bound to fail.
I also wouldnt be so sure the military will be this secular force for good, certainly not for very long.
The Egyptian military still has many Mubarak loyalists in its ranks. Whatever their faults, they and not the "Arab spring liberation" protesters the best hope for both secularism and stability in Egypt.
