So THAT'S where Baraq went.
Has anyone seen that this has been confirmed by either France or Portugal?
Possibly flight plans that had to refile a little East for Jet Stream adjustments or something? Or a 48-craft POSHITUS airavan plaguing out of Africa like locusts?
Uh..They are monitoring and spying on you too.
This story makes no geogrphical sense.
What??
It's was the U.S. government doing the espionage on that country which is harboring the person who ratted out the country committing espionage, which was the U.S. government.
LOL!
I'm sure there must be an upside to such brilliant, French-looking foreign diplomacy, but it escapes me.
Even when Obama's not trying to cut the United States down to size, he successfully cuts the United States down to size.
France? Interesting.
You would think that except Snowdon may know about a lot of government sins and not just the US govt. sins. Do you really think the govt. of France has been squeaky clean over the years ?
This is what happens when Barry and John both go overseas and leave Slow Joe running things.
While in the air, Portugal announced it would not to be allowing to enter their air space. France followed.
That left FAB1 orbiting above Austria for 3 hours until low fuel forced a landing.
Okay, I’ll buy that. Next we should confirm this from the Portuguese and French side. Assuming its true, by denying airspace, aren’t the pretty much giving a ‘heads up’ to that place not to land here because...well... ‘drones have eyes’ ?
If this story holds up (note I take anything from state-sponsored/monitored media with a grain of salt these days), this sounds like a little fishing and possible bait/switch operation by the Christians In Action over at Langley to try to smoke out Snowden's location. Meaning like me, they're not buying the 'hiding-in-a-russian-airport' line.
Like I said in a previous post, for all we know, Dude could be chilling just south of 8-Mile in Detriot for all we know. I also suspect that despite media reports, the U.S. probably isn't getting the help they're expecting from some of our 'allies'.
On another note, some of us on the tin-foil-hat brigade have been suspecting what dirty secrets they must be worried about to go through all this trouble. Some say it could be information about a certain birthplace. I'd call that small potatoes. No, it would have to be something bigger - something say... they could NOT spin their way out of...
e.g. The U.S. Treasury has no plans to make good on T-bills owned by foreigners (debt repudiation); the plan to wipe out all 401K's(Greek haircut - American style), or the real number of Americans that have denounced their citizenship in other countries(and moved assets offshore), possibly something about the last national elections... ya know - something major like that.
And to the NSA, et al: I'm just speculating. I have no inside knowledge, so don't blame me for leaking this if it happens to be true.

That kid is dead.
The response indicates that he is closer to the truth than many here suggest.
Snowden is doing a good job of separating the Conservatives from the “Snowden is a traitor” Hussein Heads at FR for us lately.
According to the story the plane in question is a Dassault Falcon. It was probably planning on a refueling stop in Portugal or the Azores before continuing on to Bolivia. I doubt it has the range to make it from Moscow to LaPaz non-stop.
We would likely refuse to hand him over to Russia, and would also likely refuse to grant him asylum.
In other words, we would be telling Russia that we understand where they're coming from but that we will not act as an extension of the Russian government.
That's exactly what Russia is doing now with regards to the US.
I think maybe they dont want to get scorn of Obama. I also think many countries DO want Snowden to release more info on US international spying on them. Once Snowden start flapping his lips about international matters the game changed.
It’s obvious. Adolf Hitler, in his Bolivian lair, wants the hi-tech assistance of Mr. Snowden. <8^0
