The average American even of better than average intelligence has no idea about foreign affairs. The Lo Fo Mo Fo’s won’t have a clue unless the Egyptians invade New York. Even then, you’d have to show half of them where New York is, point out that it’s in America, and then explain to them why it matters.
You’re right, and I’m sure most all of those have never even heard of the Pyramids in Egypt, it’ll take years (more like never) to fix ignorance.
