Obama administration officials from the Health and Human Services Department have reportedly been soliciting support from many of the country's top sports leagues, including the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, and NASCAR.

The administration is presumably looking to kill opposition to the 906 page healthcare regulatory act, by associating the regulations with the popular brand names those sports organizations have built for themselves...

Obama rejected again! Still, I'm genuinly shocked that sports leagues would push back... I'm guessing that they have access to info showing this is even more unpopular than they'd like to admit...

Any thinking person knows that an athlete in any one of the major sports leagues has advantages available through their teams that the average schlep who suffers with DeathCare simply won’t have.

They’ll have immediate access to a physician who is a specialist in his or her field, short waits for services like MRIs and surgery, and above all, the cost is covered by contract and isn’t punitive, or worse yet, a ‘tax’.

We’re supposed to believe that people on the gold standard for health care as active athletes can identify with the ZeroCare the rest of us will get? Come on.

NASCAR? Hell will freeze over first. They still remember the statements about people who go to work with their name written on their shirt!

I predict IRS audits are forthcoming for Goddell and all of the team owners.

And, additional scrutiny will do to Redskins owner Dan Snyder, who recently was pilloried by the liberals for refusing to ever consider changing the name of the team so as to not offend American Indians with the Redskins nickname.

We’re supposed to believe that Hollywood celebrities, rappers, and sports stars are just like us and live the same way. If hadn’t wasted so much time learning cursive, you’d know that already!

Remember, all they need to do is convince the stupid people and they win by sheer numbers alone.

This is good news. Assuming NASCAR tells them to pound sand, that’s 2 out of 5. Now what about the NBA, MLB, and NHL?

Why would you have to promote something that is as great as warm sliced bread?

Dude laid a big huge turd and is shoveling it on the front lawn of every American ...

A rare sane and lucid moment for NFL management.

Until Sebelius cranks up some major study on head injuries.

That’s the Chicago Way, you know.

The NFL is currently getting bad press about their willingness to promote choice lifestyles over another, hidden criminal records of some players, so, it looks like this was a PR and financial decision. They would be of a lost of so many viewers if they promoted Death care.

It’s bad enough for them that when they all don pink shoes in October, America will be thinking of Wendy Davis.

... the 906 page healthcare regulatory act ...

I see to recall hearing it was around 2,000 pages at the time it was passed. Did they reprint it in a smaller font?

I sent an email to nfl.com and told them I would not watch the games if they promote Obamacare. Maybe others did the same.
