As we approach July 4, 2013, is America in a pre-revolutionary state? Are we headed for a Tahrir Square of our own with the attendant mammoth social turmoil, possibly even violence.

I recently read “The Way of Men,” by Jack Donovan. Great little book on many levels.
His take on what it will take to turn the country around is a total reset after further decline creates enough disillusionment, and a crisis then ushers in chaos, and small, brutal gangs of men rule locally for an extended period after the State has become impotent.
He says so much more than that, and says it succinctly and well, but that is the only way he sees things going into the future. In his opinion, the State and the Global, corporate economy - which meets the needs of women, but not men - is not based on a sustainable understanding of human nature, and the fault lines are already appearing, and will worsen until it all falls apart. This is compatible with the way my thinking has evolved in recent years.
The whole world is in a pre-holocaust state right now.
Obama is going to have a worse legacy than Adolph.
Plus I had seen on CSpan a few weeks back an anti-IRS protest taking place in DC. I view that as a test run to possible future protests down the road.
1. A charismatic leader
2. A precipitating event
Nothing will get off the ground without massive organization, and no organization of the type needed will go unnoticed by the government. Without this, we will just be a bunch of disconnected organisms flailing our arms in vain.
Perhaps you intended this by your first mention of a leader. He would, indeed, have to lead at the level of a Washington.
This is an eye-opener. This guy very excellent in his predictions:
Gerald Celente.

I think politicians are like criminals. They will not stop until forced. We shall see how much force it will take.
>>Ever heard of the words, going Galt?
Of course I have. Not seeing much of it. Actually, I’m not seeing ANY of if since that implies dropping out of society and the economy completely. Even if a small number of wealthy people choose to do so, that is not a revolution since mega-corps and banks own our economy so their disappearance is not as important as it is Ayn Rand’s novel.
A revolution requires the little people to take direct action. Whining is not an action.
LOL. A lazy Paul Revere who “phones it in” and goes back to playing games is exactly what I’m talking about.
Pre-Civil War II.
“By and large, conservatives are apathetic”
Well, they better wake up then. Most conservatives are shell shocked at this point and don’t grasp the full extent of what’s happened given how quickly events have transpired. The New Left’s rapid takeover of media, education and culture that began in the 1960’s (or earlier) is basically complete. Look at a small sampling of their most consequential triumphs in the last 40 years alone:
* abortion on demand;
* the related, gradual disintegration of marriage and family life;
* 48 million on food stamps, not to mention tens of millions more on other forms of assistance;
* a tidal wave of immigration and related failure to assimilate the arrivals, creating a parallel nation with its own distinct language and culture;
* a suffocating political correctness which stifles freedom of thought, religion and expression; and
* a mammoth bureacracy to enforce all of the above.
If people are still apathetic, that’s their fault. It’s not too late to right the ship, but it’s getting late.
Whatever happens, this country could very well break-up into smaller nations.
Please see post number 46, thank-you.
I feel before too long, after the financial collapse, a group of states will take advantage of the chaos and make a break for freedom.
But don't discount us younger Americans who have studied history enough to know what has been lost (and what fate awaits societies that fall to Utopianism). All three of us desperately want our Constitution back.
Any one of the above could be “triggers”.
pass laws for the masses, but exempt themselves,
Pass draconian laws that can incarcerate you and I, without the benefit of representation of legal counsel.
Stand in the well and tell you you are a terrorist because you believe in the Constitution.
Use pseudo psychiatric BS to lock you up for a facebook remark
Now, my friend is the time to prepare, to stand in the street and say...
I am a free American, I will not be ignored,
I will not go quietly into that good night.
I have 280 years of non-compliance standing in my wake
I know patriots that have my "6", that will take my place should I fall, for freedoms sake.
SCREW YOU! YOU TRAITOROUS BASTARDS WHO HAVE PERVERTED THIS COUNTRY!
MOLON LABE!
SEMPER FI!
I’d say yes.
With a DHS that bought up some 700 million rounds of ammo in the past year, how peaceful will that be? The powers of the darkside will some opposition to let the steam off until such opposition begins to present a threat to their power structure. Then, we're going to find why they bought all that ammo and combat equipment.... and the drones.
