A bunch 'o sites (Powerline, Wunderground, etc.) do this. I use Ghostery, with Chrome as browser for them. A godsend, I tell ya.

Isn’t Chrome a GOOGLE product? I don’t trust Google all that much.
I do use “NoScript” with my Mozilla Sea Monkey browser, and that seems to do a pretty good job letting me sort out scripts - some of which are required for certain applications to work.
