The "judge" already ruled in pre-trials Zimmerman can't use anything about what a hood St. Skittles was before he became the decedent. Wouldn't that ruling go out the window if the prosecution or a prosecution witness makes the mistake of saying anything at all about St. Skittle's character?

Defense is allowed to put on reputation evidence. It does not need the state to open the door. Reputation evidence can come from one witness, but that witness has to know of reputation, not specific acts.
