Preservation is the opposite of transient, which is the obfuscation you appear to be involved in. Good luck with that...

Gosh, buffering IS storing in transient memory.

The words 'transient' and 'storing' are opposites. You should give it up you're 100% wrong. 'Recording' means 'to be recorded' which means there is a record which can be retrieved and re-played. A buffered packet which held for a micro-second during transmission cannot be retrieved and re-played.
