Prescott Fire Department confirmed 19 firefighters have died while battling the Yarnell Hill fire on Sunday night. They're part of the Prescott Granite Mountain Hot Shots.
The wildfire was likely caused by a lightning strike Saturday night.
The Yarnell Hill fire, about 35 miles southwest of Prescott, has burned about 1,300 acres and forced the evacuation of 50 homes.
The fire started Friday and has not yet burned down any structures, but Sunday night firefighters pushed the blaze back away from communities, hoping to keep the blaze from overtaking any homes.
A growing fire in Yarnell forced about 600 residents from their homes.

Oh, Cr@p! This is so sad!
Our Father, I pray these men and their families, send your holy spirit to comfort them in this hour of their need, I ask in the name of Your beloved Son, Jesus.
Can we all pray for these men, women, their families and the children as we go to bed tonight? Our prayers to Him for their sustenance will be answered.
God bless all these brave people who risk everything to keep us safe.
POS channel 5 is showin year old video of these fire fighters on the job in close ups....said these are of those who died......pure POS tv coverage.....
Will the “Great ObamaNation” rush back from Africa to make political hay out of the bodies of these brave firefighters like he did with the West firefighters and the Sandy Hook children?
How horrible.
It is sooooo hot. And today, the wind kicked up tremendously. There was wind, and then there was WIND. The wind here was followed by a brief rain. This was the worst dust storm I have seen in our time in Arizona.
what time was that....no mention of dust storm on tv reports yet
BTW.......67th ave and Bell road area hit 124.7 degrees yesterday
It is true.
We’ve been horseback riding through that country. Very rugged area.
Prayers up for these brave warriors, for their families and firefighters everywhere. These guys gave their all. May they be in God’s arms tonight. Going to be hard on their families and co-workers for a long time to come. May God watch over them and bring them comfort. Sometimes it is so hard to understand why things like this happen.
So painful. May God take them home.
:-(((
This says ‘prabable cause was lightning’...in Colorado they think the cause was suspicious. There is an ever present danger to certain parts of America...it is Jihad. There is some suggested evidence that many of the really destructive fire in the US are caused by Muzzie Jihadists (Terrorists).
Remember, though, that the Muzzie/Black Admin of Bummer/Holder will never assess the blame on Muzzie Jihadists, even after they catch on of ‘em, match or lighter in hand, starting a fire...
press conference on now
