Jimmy Carter was the reason I didn’t become a democrat.

I was a registered Republican from day one. I just felt the Democrats lied with every breath. Have to say, though, Jimmy Carter was the ONLY Democrat I ever voted for. Since then, I will NOT vote for ANY Democrat, no matter how low an office. I've seen too many of them rise to higher office and become more liberal. Lawton Chiles, Bob Graham, and now Bill Nelson (I'm a native Floridian). I've embraced the philosophy that if you want to kill a weed, you chop it off at its root.

I was very young during Carters years, and didn't care at all about politics.
Even then I saw that this guy carter was messing up the country.
Everyone was depressed, losing everything they had.
They were unable to find a job, and to top it all off Americans were taken hostage by Iran.

My friends often made fun of Carter (and so did their parents)
And a song was played regularly on the radio called Ayatollah.

No jobs-No gas-Economy in the toilet-and Iran laughing their asses off at America.

Along came Ronald Reagan.
People that should have been embarrassed into shutting up (Carter's supporters) started bashing Reagan saying he was stupid.
Just an actor.

But Ronald Reagan showed them all. (me too)

Because of Ronald Reagan I finally registered to vote and became a registered Republican.
