Central Florida port city of Sanford?
I dont think so. Whoever wrote this needs a geography lesson.
In the 1800’s Sanford was an important inland Port City with a thriving Riverboat style trade up the St. Johns River to Jacksonville. There was also a major rail head there for railroad traffic into Central Florida and across to Tampa. A lot of Agricultural Products, mainly beef and Citrus were transported by Rail and Riverboat in that area.

Intracoastal Waterway at Jacksonville.Intracoastal or Intercoastal? Huge difference and I do not know the answer sir.

Intra. It’s typically between the coastal barrier islands and the mainland but sometimes dredged channels or old canals, sheltered from open seas.
If it were intercoastal it would need to go from coast to coast to make linguistic sense. I suppose it does in a way, since the Gulf has one, too. No idea if the two connect on the southern tip of Florida or not.
Regardless, it’s still intracoastal.
To: houeto
Intracoastal means inside the coast. The Intracoastal Waterway linked up rivers, lagoons and inlets on the landward side of barrier islands running up the east coast. This provided waterway for ships and barges that was relatively safe from enemy submarines patrolling the east coast shipping lanes.

The Panama Canal is an intercoastal waterway.

[though exactly how and why remains a mystery.]
Take a look at the wounds on his head, they match the EDGE of the sidewalk. It was a form of 'curbing', The little angel was trying to kill Zimmerman.

Only one side will be inflamed by a verdict. If GZ is acquitted, there will probably be riots. If GZ is found guilty, life will go on for non-blacks. However, there still may be riots in jubilation.Someone should post that reaction photo from the OJ Simpson criminal trial verdict.

Did you know Catoosa, OK is a port city? Cape Girardeau, Missouri too.

It has also drawn considerable attention to the oft-overlooked central Florida port city of Sanford, Port city in the hinterland? Just goes to show that today's journalists do not have to know anything about the subject about which they are writing.

If only the early planters had uttered these five words:
"LET'S PICK OUR OWN COTTON."

I’ve just rethought that.
Had the planters done that we would be denied the presence of such stellar human beings as Sheila Jackson Lee, Maxine Waters, Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, and a host of other notables.

it used to be a big port city on Lake Monroe which is part of the St. John’s river.

Both sides of the race divide have already made up their minds, and will only be further inflamed by a verdict. But only one side has threatened violence if they don't get the desired result.
