Quite a few “taxes” have run from Charlotte already (and continue to do so)... Union, Cabarrus, Iredell, Gastonia, York counties... all close with fairly easy road access.
Mecklenburg has a solid history of burying the producer class in taxes all for the sake of capital boondoggles.
You've got that right. I left the land of 8.25% sales tax and 7% state income tax 2 years ago. It would not have been so bad if the money were well spent, but it was not. The only thing well organized were certain voting precincts that voted in alphabetical order.
