It’s not a farm bill...it’s a food stamp bill.
They call it a farm bill because it has so much pork in it.
Speaking of food stamps: Last evening I was checking out at Wal*Mart on the grocery side of the store. A man and woman were in front of me.
Their purchase: three two-liter bottles of Coca Cola, a bag of Doritos, two Hershey Chocolate bars, four tubes (packages) of Pringles in assorted flavors, two bags of Twizzlers and four packages of freeze pops.
Yes, they swiped their food stamp card.
Naturally, IMHO, our tax dollars should not be used for junk food with little redeeming nutritional value.
And yes, as you might expect, they were both overweight.
The S in SNAP stands for supplemental. Might I suggest, if we’re going to supplement, that supplementation should only be done with healthful, nutritional food items.
