Does anyone else get the idea that the prosecution is intentionally throwing this case? I mean, come on, every one of the “witnesses” to date have either supported the defense or have suffered major credibility issues.

I can’t see, short of outright bribery or blackmail, how anyone could vote to convict. But we all know what will happen if a “not guilty” verdict is returned.

I would not want to be living in any major American city when the verdict is released.

I have been on several juries. Never underestimate the stupidity of the average American.

I don't think they are throwing the case...just presenting it--lame as it is.

That is the political side of things. The prosecution has done its job and it can go home without further hassle.

Now cue the rioters.

The prosecution is discovering that you can’t make chicken salad out of chicken ****.

Yes.

The masses demanded a trial, so the public servants complied. I don't really see it as the prosecutors throwing the trial as I see that they have very little to work with.

Well, I get the idea that at least in some sense the prosecution wishes it would go away, that they can see they are between a rock and a hard place.

Abolutely not!

The prosecution is doing their very best to send GZ to prison for the rest of his life. They will suborn perjury, lie, distort, impugn, whatever is necessary to achieve their intended goal.

These are contemptible men without honor, truly vile humans to whom their own personal & political gain trumps any morality or desire to seek justice.

the idea that the prosecution is intentionally throwing this case...

The prosecution lawyer's bosses decided to charge Z, and these hapless lawyers got the short straw, with nothing to work with. Funny thing is, WE are paying for the prosecution... both their bosses and their lawyers (and the judge, the court personnel, and so on...). So, it's just a big throw-away of tax dollars to try and put an innocent man in jail (more tax dollars) for 30 years.

I would agree that the prosecution isn’t in a pleasant case and it’s unlikely to be winnable. Once the stand-your-ground rule is explained to the jury...you can beat on at least two jury members going in that direction. It’s within range to say that this pretty sure to be a hung jury or they all agree to deem him innocent of charges. With a hung jury, everyone will sit there and talk of another case....but it’d take at least six to eight months for the prosecution to line up their attack in a slightly different manner. This thought would not be pleasant to consider if you were the current prosecution team. A case like this is something you desire once in your life, and if you don’t win it....it burns the heck out of you in terms of invested time.

Doesn’t matter. It’s up to the jury. Who knows how they will decide. Who knows how smart or stupid they are.

If the low information people in this country want to riot - they will find an excuse regardless of the outcome of this trial. The jury should not be intimidated nor made to feel that if riots break out - they are to blame. No, idiots who don’t understand the law or just want to act like gangsters will do what they want to do - regardless. Zimmerman clearly acted in self-defense.

A jury should not be held hostage by threats - but, I guess the media wants something to happen to divert the attention away from this scandalous administration. They’ll do anything to cover for their boy thug from Chicago.

The prosecution was politcally forced to bring this case forward. They are calling witnesses who can only bolster Zims story(is there any other)so that they can say,”Justice was served even if you don’t like the end results”. This case would never have been forwarded in the first place if our race baiter pres hadn’t made his comment about him looking like his son if he had one. Zim will walk and the blacks will riot furthering the racial divide.

“Throwing the case”. I had the same impression. Maybe? they decided they went over the top. Kind of wishful thinking
