I wanted to see the sites before the country collapse.

What, missile sites...construction sites?

We saw many sites the great pyramids, the national museum in Cairo (it is just off of Tahrir square). Many sites both historic and modern Luxor was the best place. The kings palace was converted into a five star hotel that has a really great garden. It was interesting to see the hanging church in Cairo. It is said that the holy family escaped to Cairo when Herod ordered the killing of all male babies. Memphis it had an interesting temple. On the serious side there were many many police in white. The only ones that were armed with automatic weapons were around churches and Christian sites. This was true in Cario and Luxor.
Even today I would be safer their, than in some neighborhoods in Detroit, Chicago, Cleveland etc
