Egyptian security and medical officials say an American has been killed in the Mediterranean coastal city of Alexandria during clashes between supporters and opponents of Egypt's embattled President Mohammed Morsi.

Alexandria security chief Gen. Amin Ezz Eddin told Al-Jazeera TV that an American was killed Friday in Sidi Gabr Square while photographing the battles between opposition youth and members of the Muslim Brotherhood, from which Morsi hails.

A medical official told The Associated Press the American was wounded by gunshots and died at the hospital.

Six Egyptians have been killed in days of clashes ahead of nationwide protests Sunday demanding Morsi's removal.

SNIP

The State Department said Friday that Americans should defer nonessential travel to Egypt, citing the uncertain security situation. It also said it would allow nonessential staff and the families of personnel at the U.S. Embassy in Cairo to leave Egypt until conditions improve.

LOL!!! SPLENDID!

I think I might be happier than you are-— if that is possible!

If you want to post a sentence or two before your photo, write out the sentence and put a p at the end with a < before the p and a > after the p. The p stands for paragraph.

This is ‘The Egyptian Opposition Roadmap’ petition they have distributed for weeks....

First they had 9 million signitures then 15 million... Media outlets in the Middle East are now reporting they have reached 22 million signatures, a significant portion of Egypt’s population of 82 million....calling for the ouster of Pres. Morsi.

Here is their roadmap if they are able to remove Morsi.

1. Hand power to an independent prime minister who represents the January 25 Revolution on the condition that he does not run in the first upcoming presidential or parliamentary elections.

2. “The independent prime minister will head a technocratic government whose main mission is to put together an urgent economic plan to save the Egyptian economy and to expand social justice policies,” said Tamarod co-founder Mohamed Abdel-Aziz. He also hinted that the premier would not be from drawn from among well-known politicians.

3. “The head of the High Constitutional Court would be assigned the duties of the president according to protocol, where all executive powers are assigned to the prime minister in a six-month transitional period that ends by presidential elections judicially supervised and monitored internationally, followed by parliamentary elections,” the Tamarod co-founder added.

4. Dissolving the Shura Council, suspending the current constitution and drafting a new constitution are steps in the roadmap proposed by the newly founded Front.

5. The prime minister will give the National Defense Council the authority to fulfill its national security responsibility towards the country.

I do! I swear I am as excited as you! LOL! Hang on to the formula. If you don't post a photo for a week or two, you will feel like you are back to square 2, but eventually it will become second nature.

Meanwhile:

Mideast Chaos Grows as U.S. Focuses on Israel

The new secretary of state’s exertions — reminiscent of predecessors like Henry A. Kissinger and James A. Baker III — have been met with the usual mix of hope and skepticism...

[LOL!]

With little leverage over Egypt and deep reluctance about intervening in Syria, the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is one place that the United States can still exert influence, and perhaps even produce a breakthrough. ...

A day after Mr. Kerry concluded 13 hours of talks with Mr. Netanyahu, Israeli newspapers were dominated by images of the vast protests in Egypt. Five of the six five major daily papers did not even carry front-page reports on Mr. Kerry’s diplomacy.

Hang on to it??... Heck I have posted above my computer like a sign with black mark-a-lot! It’s not going anywhere!

I do think you’re as excited as I am...I do I do I do! lol....showing me what it would look like made all the difference! Thank you for taking the time to write that out so clearly. That’s what YOU should save and give it to others!...Perfect Instruction!... I am so very grateful.

Meanwhile,

I saw Kerry’s reponse about Egypt and that was enough for me.....but interesting no news...maybe the Administration is trying to pull some fast ones while Egypt is tying up the news for foreign happenings.

Heck ‘O’ needs something to put out in the news..he’s batting just like his name ‘O’ in every corner these days.

Morsi has two guns to his head now:

One held by the opposition, whose ultimatum will end at 5 pm Tuesday,...

... one held by the army, whose ultimatum expires Wednesday afternoon.

Protest groups have already asserted that if the President isn’t out by 5 pm, they will announce a general strike that will bring the country to a standstill.

My comment in post 792:

Excellent discussion on current Egypt events led by Krauthammer on Bret Baier "Special Report" ---- excellent only because Krauthammer was present. Will post video when it is available.

The Daily Caller picked it up (with video)

MM: To your point

Krauthammer: Obama ‘bystander’ policy on Egypt ‘a shocking position’

"The tack Obama is taking is 180 degrees from the position he took with its 2011 revolution, according to Krauthammer.

“Obama is a bystander, again,” Krauthammer said. “Here are the Egyptians in the millions out on the street, trying to bring down an Islamic government, increasingly dictatorial, increasingly intolerant, arresting journalists and judges, trying to Islamicize the military and the people are saying no. And what does the president of the United States do? He takes a position of studied neutrality, says he is not supporting either side....

“But this reminds me of the Green Revolution in Iran in 2009 when the same thing happened. Islamists, dictatorial government, the people out in the street, and they were shouting ‘Obama, Obama, are you with us or against us?’” ....That was a shameful episode.

There’s also idea of national interest. Mubarak was pro-American. He was an ally of ours. He helped us in all kinds of ways. Obama worked against him. Morsi represents a movement which is essentially deeply anti-American, and deeply anti-democratic. And yet he is neutral on this. This is a shocking position for a president to take.”

There is more---Krauthammer nails it!
