Did the RCMP search EVERY home in the affected area or just where they knew where the guns would be? If the latter, how did they know where to look?

No need to search much. Its called R-E-G-I-S-T-R-A-T-I-O-N. An added benefit is this sweeps up any firearms that weren’t registered due to non-compliance. A backdoor confiscation.

I was under the impression Bill C-19 when passed, eliminated the long gun registry and police forces (or anyone else) were not allowed to use information from it.

If the latter, how did they know where to look?And how do residents know that firearms were the only things confiscated? Even if the RCMP knew which HOUSES to search, they did not know where inside the houses the guns were hidden. THAT takes intensive searching in many cases. What did they find that won't be there when the homeowners return?
