“People have a significant amount of money invested in firearms ... so we put them in a place that we control and that they’re safe.”

How thoughtful of you. I assume, then, that you also took the jewelry, china, silver and any classic cars people had, too, right? I mean, since it was because they had money invested in them and wanted to keep them safe.

And the government got slapped down for doing it, and new laws were enacted to make darn sure it wouldn't happen again.

Laws matter nothing to them. They routinely run roughshod over ANYBODY they deem necessary.

The Constitution? Laws? Pffft...they could care less.

Did the RCMP search EVERY home in the affected area or just where they knew where the guns would be? If the latter, how did they know where to look?

I was under the impression Bill C-19 when passed, eliminated the long gun registry and police forces (or anyone else) were not allowed to use information from it.

Why is there not an organized right that is well funded and organized to preserve freedom?

The left has a stake in control; it's immediately obvious to them that it is worth their money to invest in gaining control. They know damned well that they can't make it in a free market without that control; to them, power is survival. Even the extremely wealthy leftists who get their favors at bond auctions know that control of government buys them a 'predictable investment environment.' Many of them are inheritors of great wealth, and not producers. In that respect, they are every bit as much government dependents as the welfare cases. For Democrats investing in power is a matter of life and death, with a very favorable return.

The right wants to be left alone. The loss of freedom, being incremental, does not mean as much to us in the immediate sense as does making payroll, paying bills, etc. It seems counter-intuitive that we should have to pay good money to keep government off our backs. Further, the right is stingy, a legacy value of thrift and prudence. We don't pay for candidates about whom we are less than enthusiastic. It may be worth our money to pay for politicians who truly represent us in the long run, but there is obviously the risk of no return given the demographics, making that investment less attractive.

We get the government we pay for, and because of it, we are increasingly less able to pay. QED

And how do residents know that firearms were the only things confiscated? Even if the RCMP knew which HOUSES to search, they did not know where inside the houses the guns were hidden. THAT takes intensive searching in many cases. What did they find that won't be there when the homeowners return?

The problem we all have is that it has yet to dawn on the sheep of the right and the left that we have a Us folks and the Us folks real opposition is the government. We are just used and abused by them. They all failed to tell us formally that the Constitution no longer applies.

We have very few real representatives in government. We are allowed to have a few to appease us.
They do not care about what the people want.
They have plans that really do not include many of us folks unless we totally capitulate.

It is demeaning to see the contempt the government has for us. Instead of showing up at phoney rigged elections, we should be rounding them up and sending them to GITMO to share prayer rugs with their Muslim terrorist buddies.

It why government goes to “Evacuation” so quickly, to get the people used to being moved en masse and why they attempt to discredit those who refuse. It’s a great great way to get you and your neighbors out of the way so government can do as they please.

In fact, it would not surprise me that NSA/FBI agents are posing as FEMA personnel and inserted into “evacuated” areas to search and install additional listening devises for those who might avoid cell phones and computers and a regular means to communicate.

How many agents of the NSA/FBI pose as FEMA personnel and are sent into evacuated areas to search and install additional monitoring equipment?

Based on the fact we now find the government is wiretapping us, bugging us, monitoring and spying on our email and cell phones, would anyone be surprised by this?

The IRS must be abolished. Any candidate from either side will win huge if they promise the end of the tax Gestapo. We need 100’s of house and senate candidates running on “goodbye Gestapo”.

You know, for me, all of these problems seem pretty simple and have simple answers.

But, what gets me is how fu**king stupid that man is. And every day, just when you think he can’t prove to you just how stupid he really is, WHAM!!! Right in your face.

It makes you wonder what he really thinks of himself. Its almost as if the person(s) that are pulling his puppet strings, do stuff just to show the world what an idiot he is. But he’s too damn stupid to realize it.

Oh well. Hopefully we’ll survive until 2014 and they can try and get some common sense folks in DC(doubt it). And hopefully, all the dirt that Hillary has will come out and sink her.

“When people find out about this there’s going to be untold hell to pay.”

Sounds like they already have found out.....but in this writer's eye, the expected outcome: all words, no action.

So much for the Canadian revolution, eh?

Anyone here think it will be any different in the U.S.? I don't.......too many so called armed patriots have jobs and mortgages, truck payments, kids in college and soccer games to attend on the weekends...they'll be too busy for the revolution.

Then question your premise.

Cruz and Rand appear to be pushing that. We’ll see how far it goes. There are a bunch of elites and hoi polloi that benefit from the current tax code. That’s why change has been so hard. There are too many goodies in the code.
