If he did then I doubt they recognized it. Symptoms of a heart attack or high blood pressure were unknown. Generally it wasn't until they keeled over did they realize anything was wrong.
He could have had a mild heart attack, clutched his chest, passed out and recovered. Heart attacks come in many forms and symptoms. Maybe a mild stroke. All speculative, as we will never know.
