I figured the biggest swarth of recruitment would be the Scotch-Irish influence starting from So,Va., NC, working west throuh KY, TN, then AR, OK, and Texas.

I don’t know the enlistment numbers by region but that charts agrees with my thoughts, that mountain and southern States contribute more enlistees than the rest of the US.

State by state or county by county maps may give a somewhat different picture. Maine, for example, had very high recruitment ratios that year, Mississippi and Louisiana relatively low ones. And there are changes over time.
