Congress plots exit from Obamacare coverage

Congress is not as stupid as you think.

I realize that is not a high bar; but still, credit must be given when credit is due. Quite often when our duly-elected political representatives get together in Washington to pass some ill-designed, over-intrusive and brutally expensive law, they recognize the difficulties it will create -- and so they exempt themselves.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration?

The National Labor Relations Act?

Minimum wage laws?

None of them govern Congress.

The much-lauded Sarbanes-Oxley Act, which sends corporate executives to prison for falsifying financial data, would decimate Congress if it were applied to the federal budgeting process. Which is exactly why it doesn't.

Once in a while, even Congress gets embarrassed by the legal loopholes it writes itself.

Congress plots exit from Obamacare coverage

I'm just a peon, but shouldn't "Equal Protection Under the Law" mean that we too could exempt ourselves?

What do we expect from a communists inspired Government. These rotten things we call politicians have always considered them more important than the people they serve. Over bloated junk.

You aren’t alone in your disdain for these critters. They voted for it, now let them live by it.

“All animals are equal, but some are more equal than others.” Wait until the low information voters are standing in long lines waiting for a 10 minute visit with a nurse practitioner, waiting for weeks to see a doctor and being denied treatment by some federal decree find out that no one in Washington has the same plan and gets their healthcare at a discount at exclusive facilities denied to the masses.

"Equal Protection Under the Law"

The 14th Amendment to the Constitution prescribes "equal protection of the laws" to all Americans.

But what does that mean, if the President of the United States can arbitrarily grant waivers, so that A, B and C have to obey the laws but X, Y and Z do not — as with both ObamaCare and the immigration laws?

The Courts SHOULD rule that his waivers violate the provisions of the 14th Amendment and are null and void, but since the NSA has so graciously provided the usurper in chief with blackmail material on the justices, it probably won't happen.
