Gawd this pisses me off. I want to know the definition of White Privilege. Because I’m white, but I’ve really always had to work for every dime I’ve got, and I’ve never received a handout EVER in my life.
I just graduated with a masters at age 50. The AA 30 year old chicks in my class will probably walk into any job interview and be offered the job just by FREAKING SHOWING UP. Same goes for the Asians, and/or the Indians, or Middle Easterners, the Filapinos ..you name it. It will be handed to them on a silver platter, no matter what their qualifications.
I, on the other hand, will have to get my hair done perfectly, fix my make up right, fight to hide my age, talk smarter and work FAR harder to get any job, and I will have to settle likely for a far less glamorous job than they will be hired for.
So, don’t talk to ME about white privilege. I’m hated before I even walk in the door.
