its normally dry here all summer long....with few exceptions, if you can open your house up in the evening and early morning and then close the blinds, the house will stay pretty cool....

we have one window AC and most summers we don't even get around to putting it up....

like you, I hate paying the electric company more money than they already are taking...

we do have a fan going year round in our bedroom.

Yes, the open windows at night help. Everything has to stay shut up as it heats up during the day. My hubby is bad about opening windows then the hot, humid air takes over.
