Day 15 (Week #3) Zimmerman Trial – Witness Discussion Thread
The Conservative Treehouse ^ | June 28, 2013 | Sundance

Posted on 06/28/2013 5:14:39 AM PDT by Uncle Chip

Today, June 28th, is DAY #15 (of 3rd week) State of Florida V. George Zimmerman case. [Yesterday] … it was simply not a very good day at all for the prosecution. The primary State witnesses today were Rachel Jeantel, Jenna Lauer, and Selma Mora.

The first had her credibility substantively destroyed, the second was powerfully–almost humiliatingly–co-opted by the defense, and the third provided testimony entirely consistent with the defense’s theory of lawful self-defense. (continue reading)

BDLR shows Good his written statement made that night, "ground and pound" not in it.

Good says he added 'ground and pound' later to give better visual.

(IIRC, Good used the 'MMA' description in his day after interview with the Orlando Fox affiliate.)

He asked the judge whether the prosecution was trying to impeach or help the witness recollect.

In retrospect, I believe it is more impeach in the sense of overly embellish, or take the term from the interviewing police officer.

Totally agree.

Good doesn’t want to be there. He’s being very careful about what he says, certainly doesn’t want to be called back. He is a reluctant witness, just a man in the wrong place a the wrong time.

Oooohh good point. ‘John Good’ just said he only saw the person on the ground ‘after’ he heard the yelling for help.

BDLR gets Good to say maybe investigator used 'ground and pound' first. But says Good used MMA to better describe what he saw. Good agrees it describes punches being thrown, but says he didn't actually see punches land, just arms moving downward.

Good says he can't say for sure who yelled for help. Says he didn't see hands of person on bottom.

BDLR asks Good if he was lying in his initial statements. Good says no, elaborations came because questions not asked originally.

Indeed.

Didn’t the prosecution just accuse their own witness of lying?

My gawd. . .

I think the prosecution has just about proven beyond a reasonable doubt that Trayvon was guilty of assault!

He asks JG if later clarifications of his statements mean that he was lying originally. What kind of tactic is that?

BDLR should be glad he’s on the public dole being paid to railroad innocent folks—he’d never make it in the private sector. What a complete idiot; he doesn’t have the slightest clue what he’s doing!
