There are many of us who have some disability, approved by the VA after their review. Less than 50% provides a token (tax free, if retired) check.

There is widespread fraud in this area. It is looked at as providing “free money” to many veterans with “fractional” disability with the excuse of “you may as well get it”. It is just yet another disconnect between those who live off of a government-funded system and those who pay for it.

One might think that there wouldn’t be widespread dishonor amongst those who served in the military, but the truth is that it is a fraud that far too many people who serve in the military complicit in.

It is a travesty to those who have actual catastrophic combat-related disability, and secondarily to those that suffer debilitating service-related disability as a result of the requirements of their service.
