You’re right. The prosecution had no legitimate excuse for calling this person to the stand. It shows how desperate they are for a murderer conviction.
Putting her on the stand after knowing that she lied in previous statements is a violation of the professional code of conduct and may even be a crime.
That was not a legitimate objection. The judge sustained it anyway.
