'He said a creepy a** cracker was watching him': Trayvon's girlfriend takes the stand

The state's star witness, Trayvon Martin's girlfriend, took the stand today to testify about the last phone call he made before he was shot dead in which he described George Zimmerman following him. Rachel Jeantel, 19, told the court that she asked the teen what the man looked like and he said he looked creepy, 'a creepy a** cracker'. She said Trayvon told her he was going to go home but the man was still following him, saying 'Oh sh**, the n**** is still behind me'.

'I just told him to run,' Rachel told the court, adding that her friend was heavy breathing.

The pair then got cut off and when she called him back he told her he was back at his father's fiancee's house and he thought he had lost the man.

Jeantel then told the court she heard Trayvon ask the man 'Why are you following me?' and that he said, 'What are you doing around here?'

A neighbor of George Zimmerman cried as she testified today about hearing a boy's cry for help shortly before she heard a gun go off.

But Jayne Surdyka also testified on the third day of testimony in Zimmerman's murder trial that she heard multiple gunshots, 'pop, pop, pop'.

Only one shot was fired in the fatal encounter between Zimmerman and 17-year-old Trayvon Martin.

I have not watched too much of this case, and this was the first article that I've read that shows crime scene photo's.

According to the article, both sides are claiming that the other was on top while the fighting/shooting occured. I looked at the photo's, and it appears to me that they indicate that Martin was on top of Zimmerman when he was shot.

Look at the photo's of Martins body. Notice the right leg crosses the left leg at the ankles. Martin was shot in the heart at point blank range. I don't know the angle of the bullet, but if it was straight on, then it would indicate that the two were most likely squared shoulder to shoulder. This would mean that whoever was on bottom was relatively flat on their back. If Martin was flat on his back, and died instantly, then why are his legs crossed? Typically, if you are in a fight like that, and on the bottom, you want to spread your legs to try to get some leverage, so you can get out from underneath. You typically don't lie there with them crossed.

Now, if Martin was on top when he was shot, he would fall on Zimmerman, and Zimmerman would have to roll him off, in order to get up.

Lay down on your stomach, and while keeping your legs as dead weight, at a natural shoulders distance apart, use your arms to roll yourself to your left, onto your back. Now look at your feet, and then look at Martins in the crime scene photos.

Looking at the photos, my guess is that Zimmerman was on his knees, on top, with Zimmerman between his knees. This is 'MMA' style, where you have your opponent trapped in a vulnerable position while you continue your attack. After being shot, Martin falls forward, onto Zimmerman. Zimmerman then rolls Martin of to his right, Martins left. Martin ends up in the position that the crime scene photo shows him.

Did you see the end of her testimony? She was *pissed*, especially after hearing West say that he'd do his 2-hour cross-examination *tomorrow*. The judge basically stepped in and saved her from a full spittle-spraying meltdown on the stand. After the jury filed out, Fox News cut to an open microphone on one of tables and you could hear some unflattering comments and laughter about Witness #8.

You seem to be spot on based on a few pics. The bottoms of both pant legs (knee down) are wet but only on the top (shin) side. One can, easily, see the dividing line of moisture on the left leg

Pretty sure Zimmerman said that after he shot Martin, he pushed him off then rolled him on his stomach to subdue him. Not knowing Martin was dead, he was asking for help to hold him down like this.

So the State is trying to make is sound like it was Zimmerman on top of Martin the whole time whaling away. Not sure how that’s supposed to explain no marks on Martin and Zimmerman beat to a pulp.

Zimmerman says he rolled Martin off and then over on his stomach to secure Martin’s hands. Zimmerman was apparently unaware at that time that Martin was dead. This picture is of Martin’s body after it had been moved more than once by any account of what was going on.
