I sent two pointed emails to my senator, Kelly Ayotte and must have hit a nerve. I got an email back, obviously a bulk mailing, but cunningly addressed to single individuals, where she attacks the "myths" about the amnesty bill.

I am afraid that she is nothing but a tool. I guess we are going to have to primary her as well.

...Red Hampshire should have chosen Ovide over the Collins clone...RH LOVES their left-wing women; look at their CONgressional reps, their Senators, their Governor.

A tool or a total moron. Primary the traitors.

U.S. Constitution, Article IV, Section 4:

"The United States shall guarantee to every state in the union a republican form of government,

AND SHALL PROTECT EACH OF THEM AGAINST INVASION."

I am deeply troubled about a press release from rep in the US House, who has a very conservative reputation:

“This bill is about finding a compassionate yet firm and law-abiding solution to immigration reform. It also means bringing an estimated 11 million people out from the shadows

UH-OH!

and directly into the work force, where they will pay taxes, pay into social security, and contribute positively to our nation. We can do this without granting amnesty and without granting a new pathway to citizenship,” said Chairman Carter.

Maybe he believes he can reconcile "out of the shadows" with "no new path to citizenship," but I think any "comprehensive" immigration bill coming out of the House is likely to come out of a senate-house conference committee with such a new-path-to-citizenship.

I think he is playing with fire, and I want to get an opportunity to speak with him in person. Failing that, I suppose I need to draft a petition and go door to door.

Voting out someone who allows amnesty might make us feel good, but the irreversible damage would have been done by then.
