Today, June 26th, is DAY #13 (of 3rd week) State of Florida V. George Zimmerman case. An explosive second day of deconstructed witness testimony took place yesterday. Which leads to the “big question”:
Will witness #8, Rachel Jeantel, be called to the stand today?
[Yesterday could] … only be characterized as an utter debacle for the prosecution in Florida v. Zimmerman. Besides the testimony of a couple of highly professional law enforcement witnesses, the testimony of the the other State witnesses ranged from signing George Zimmerman’s praises, to acknowledging the utility of following a suspicious person from a distance, to being utterly discredited by razor sharp cross-examination of the defense.
Before we even get to the disaster that was the State’s witnesses, however, we first have to discuss this morning’s hearing and the extent to which it evanescent is the State’s case against George Zimmerman. State: Zimmerman Is So Good, He Must Be Bad ............

The photo basis of deciding who was on top after the fact is ludicrous even if she had photos of both of them close in time to the event.
But in her case she relied on the photo of Trayvon in a football jersey AS A LITTLE KID to determine that Zimmerman was the larger one that night AND the main one she relied on was a close up of just Trayvon’s head and shoulders in a hoodie!
I really think the prosecution should not have used this “evidence”.
AND Im pretty sure the prosecutor had her testify like that without showing the jury the photos she saw on tv which were the basis of her testimony. That left the defense free to show the jury, OMG, her testimony makes no sense. In a murder trial??? Very bad form.
“This is one very confused witness....She’s saying GZ was on top... during the scuffle AND when the shot(s) went off. That’s damaging testimony... or, at least it WOULD be... if she wasn’t such a dunce. Now, she’s saying she couldn’t actually SEE out of the window? Sheesh...”
It seems like she’s admitting that she compared who was on top with PHOTOS she later saw of the two.
“The larger one was on top.”
She has been coached to say Zimmerman was on top...
What’s funny is she has no idea how tall Martin was (5’11”) because they always had the little boy pictures of him. The “larger,” at the time, was Trayvon Martin. George Zimmerman is what, 5’7”? He put on a lot of weight since last year. He was the “smaller” one back then if you ask me.
She looks scared after the defense grilled her.
When the Defence calls for her husband, who stood face to face with ZMan, as a witness we will get a truthful answer.

I wonder if Trayvon's had a checkup within the prior year, and if his doctor's records from that could be gotten? That would show what his height and weight.

It always pays to know a few words of Spanish when communicating complex ideas, like “Lay sod green side up!”
Even the original 'picture' can be distorted in their mind by their previous experiences.
I have a test I perform on people who believe that they SEE what they SEE, instead of what their mind stores as what it BELIEVES it saw. Everyone fails the test.
I am quite sure that the 'picture' in this woman's mind changed as time went on. That is why the police take written statements right AFTER the incident. They are the 'most' reliable, but there is no guarantee that they are accurate to begin with.
When was the last time he played football. The program always lists height and weight. -— sometimes a big exaggerated

I think there is no doubt the prosecution is throwing the case to GZ on purpose. No one can be this stupid on purpose.
When will John be put on the stand?
Well.... they save the best for last. Maybe witness #8 will testify that she saw Mr. Zimmerman shoot Trayvon in the back. Three times. With an assault rifle.

I don’t know about the rest of ‘em... me, I’ve already flagged the dodgy spelling, but I’m still struggling to diagram that atrocity of a sentence. :-)
That was about useless for all of us. Why does she keep mentioning hearing “3 pops?” Is she somehow committed to that from earlier statements? I only thought there was only one shot.
A majority of the voters in the last two presidential contests show that your last statement is in ERROR!
Agreed. Never should have come in. Appears like it’s another incident of the Pros. trying to feed the jury junk evidence, so exposing it continues the theme.
I hope there’ll be a couple of more opportunities to revisit those “two flashlights” that the prosecution thought was of such significance. The conflict between how they were hyped and what they really look like is the perfect analogy for the prosecution’s whole case.
