Texas lieutenant governor late Tuesday suspended a senators filibuster against wide-ranging abortion restrictions, but Democrats moved quickly to appeal the decision and set off a parliamentary fight over the rules.
Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst after determining that Democratic Sen. Wendy Davis strayed off the topic when she talked about a sonogram bill passed in 2011 and how the new abortion restrictions only compounded the anti-abortion laws in Texas.

I think Dewhurst just helped create a hero of the left.
Still in session. GOP and Dems meeting in chambers.
Saw that..meeting to have a Caucus to determine if SB5 passed. Some of the Live Feeds are back now..
I am going to be so sleepy tomorrow.
I am watching some U-Stream run by the pro choicers. Lots of girly gay guys scared of the DPS! PO’d that food isn’t allowed in.
I’m gonna be sleepy too!
So, now the tweets from inside the Caucus are saying that bill passed at 12:03am..so, it’s dead.
Damn.
That’s not official out of the Caucus, but the Pro-Aborts outside the Rotunda are hugging, and crying, and happy.
If not for all the shouting, stomping, deafening, ear splitting chaos from the Protestors, the bill would’ve passed.
Isn;t the Sergeant at Arms or somebody supposed to keep order, or have the DPS remove disruptors so that business can be conducted?
Oh, I see that dead old Ma Richards daughter, Cecile, the President of Planned Parenthood is the one who told the pro aborts the Bill is dead..I guess she’d know.
Santa Muerte worshipping Dem’s.

Ahhhh, I was wondering who that was. Figures.
I am not defending them as you say. I am just pointing out that particular attitude alianates. It could alianate some that could swing an election. I watched it. The optics were horrible. What happens to this type of legislation if elections are lost? I am not sure eff em is a good idea.
AP: BREAKING: Texas lt. gov. reverses himself, declares vote on tough abortion bill came too late to pass.
Too bad the pubbies in Austin didn’t look at a CLOCK for pete’s sake!
Did you watch what was going on? It would have taken a brigade
One would think. They disrupted the proceedings so they should get a do over.
I know exactly how the libs in Austin act, after watching a 20 something knock down an 82 year old woman at the State Capitol.
Did the Cops do anything? Arrest him for battery? No, they told him he should leave, and just ignored that he didn't.
So that would be a no.
Not a do-over, You suspend via procedure until Order is restored..It stops the clock, IIRC.
So, will Perry call another session?
I watched just a little of it to hear what was going on, but all I could hear was incessant chanting and shouting from the Gallery, and outside the Senate Floor.
Mostly I followed it on Twitter.
