. The human and economic toll from destructive floods, droughts, heat waves, hurricanes, and wildfires is already far too high for our businesses, families, and governments. In the past two years alone, there were 25 weather events that cost more than $1 billion each and $188 billion in total damage.

I presume there will be some supporting data showing that these events were actually caused by climate change?

Or how about data showing that these events were actually a departure from past history?

The "cost" and "damage" factors are not valid comparisons, because a weather event can occur in one location and cause no significant damage to man-made structures, while exactly the same event can occur in another place and cause horrific damage to businesses and homes.

In most parts of the Midwest and South, a tornado can deviate course by less than 1 mile and significantly change the outcome.

Don’t let a hurricane — or tornado — or tsunami — or flood — go to waste. That’s the motto.
