Agreed. It isn’t going to be easy for the next three years. What I find interesting is the similarity among Private Bradley Mann, Snowden, Assange and Obama in their tendency to believe they have all wisdom as to what is or is not right in our society. Time was, during our twenties, and at latest by the thirties, we learned we were pretty stupid when it came to complex societal issues. We learned to seek wisdom outside ourselves.

These days, between the “educrat’s” values clarification program and the demise of traditional sources of wisdom like elders, church leaders and politicians who were actually statesmen, every twenty-something believes he or she is as wise as Socrates or Confucius. And clearly Obama has never grown out of his own twenties. Hence, why need to listen to Congress or other fonts of knowledge? They are now just demonized as selfish interest groups, partly because a lot of those groups have corrupted themselves by acting the part. And since technology has placed a lot of power into the hands of these callow youth, we are indeed in a lot of trouble.

Boy, is THAT observation spot-on!

Obama is nothing if not a child of the 70’s. I remember that time, and absolutely EVERYBODY between the ages of 18 and 25 thought they had the answers to all the world’s problems.

Problem with Barry is he’s over 50 and he STILL BELIEVES THAT! This utter lack of accumulated wisdom in one of my contemporaries is truly shocking.
