It would be disappointing if Ted Cruz were to do that for Cornyn here in Texas.”

This is surely going to be interesting. At the local Lincoln Day dinner all the Republican dignitaries showed up, were introduced and most were on the program, including many from Austin. Cornyn is the golden hair boy of most of this group - as was Kay Bailey. Notably absent at the dinner was Cruz. Quite frankly, I doubt if they invited him.

I think whether Cruz supports Cornyn or not is going to depend on whether Cornyn is primaried and, if so, by whom or whether Cornyn wins the primary and is running against a strong Democrat.

Could end up being like Sarah Palin not really endorsing Romney. Cruz appears to measure his words carefully and whether speaking from a prepared text or off the cuff always seems to come up with just the right words.

McConnell ought to just retire. Of course, if he does, I think Cornyn is the heir apparent for his leadership post. It’s his turn - don’t you know! Paul moves one step forward and two back. He’s just not dependable.

Do you know anything about Dwayne Stovall from Cleveland, TX who is right now trying to gather 5,000 signatures to get on primary ballot against Cornyn? Wondering if he is a serious candidate or does he have a chance against Cornyn?
