Napolitano has a standing open order for more ammunition, but no one knows why.
If DHS can have ammunition, why cant we? he asked.””
Good questions!
I think a lot of TLA’s use .40 cal.

.40 cal for all the SWAT/FBI/NSA//and other alphabet soup paramilitary forces employed by the gubmint.
Dealers tell me they have never seen anything like this in 20, 30, or 40 years depending how long they have been open.
Does anyone have any ideas what causes the most common and cheap ammo to dry up as it has if the government isn't behind it?
What’s the TLA?
I’ve been buying or trying to buy 22 LR for the last 6 months in earnest. As the first few months went on, customers were lined up in Walmart on Thursday and Saturday mornings 6-10 deep waiting on the employees to put out 22 LR or 9mm (their two most scarce calibers).
In the last 6-8 weeks, WM has been getting in more regular supplies of 22 LR in my town as well as 9mm....sometimes even what they put out lasts the whole day they put it out, and once in a while it is there the day after.
They are regularly putting out .223 and 5.56, 45 ACP, 40 S&W (even 380 and 32 ACP once a month)....I’ve also bought a few hundred rounds of 357 magnum...
The most scarce round I see right now at WM and other places is 22 Magnum Rimfire.....
In a post-apocalyptic world small arms ammo will be the new currency.
I agree with you, I’ve asked around when I do go out. 22LR is rarely available. One guy I know said that right now .45 costs just about as much as 22 LR per round. And according to articles I’ve read the manufacturers of 22 LR are making it as fast as they can.
So where is the choke point? I don’t know, but I’m sure somebody does.
Obama is planning something, and his DH-Stapo are preparing for it.
On Remington’s FB page they deny that the government is buying up all the ammo. They are dead wrong and are trying to shield themselves because they made a deal with the government to stay in NY.
I would test fire randomly any ammo that is purchased recently or in the future.
Just have a bad feeling about all of this and one way to screw us would be to buy up all the “good” ammo and somehow mess up the new ammo. So when the SHTF, we are all having problems with jamming weapons etc.
However if SHTF there will be a lot of government caliber bullets to be had, probably more than you can carry as the day goes on.
Well duh! Dealers will also tell you that thanks to Odumbo, they have sold more firearms in the last year than at any time in 20, 30, or 40 years depending how long they have been open. People who buy guns also want to buy ammo. Make sense?
Three Letter Agencies (NSA, CIA, DIA, FBI, etc.)
Well, no. Five years ago, a gun shop would put in an order for ammo and have it filled in full within 10 days. Now unless there has been an explosion in the number of gun shops, (There hasn't) those dealers should be able to get resupplied in regular time frames, but that's not happening. These well established dealers are not selling more ammo, but less due to lack of supply. And the manufacturers swear that they are running three shifts, flat out. Something that they were not doing before, so where is all the ammo going? Now I can understand 9mm, .40sw, .45 acp, .223, and the like being scarce with the DHS purchases, but where is the .22lr?
Every gunner I know has anticipated this by stockpiling mass quantities.
Bet he avoids this ammo.
