Former U.S. National Security Agency contractor Edward Snowden will fly from Moscow to Cuba on Monday and then plans to go to Venezuela, a source at the Russian airline Aeroflot said on Sunday.
The source said Snowden was already on his way to Moscow from Hong Kong and would leave for Havana within 24 hours.
The South China Morning Post also reported that Snowden had left Hong Kong for Moscow and that his final destination might be Ecuador or Iceland. The WikiLeaks anti-secrecy website said Snowden was heading for an unnamed "democratic nation".
The flight to Moscow prompted speculation that Snowden might remain in Russia, whose leaders accuse the United States of double standards on democracy and have championed public figures who challenge Western governments.
But Putin's spokesman, Dmitry Peskov, said he was unaware of Snowden's plans and the Foreign Ministry declined immediate comment on whether he had asked for asylum.

Ever look at the trustees on the international crisis group? The only secrets being kept are the ones being kept from us.

to tell the truth ... maybe nothing of the truth has been reported .... heck, who knows.
And "ACORN" was dissolved in 2011.
Standard tradecraft red herring stuff. Putin will see him safely on a jet to Iceland that is full of his operatives. The CIA won’t get near that airplane.
That’s why he went to Hong Kong instead of to Japan or Europe or South America. Anywhere the CIA has a fairly free hand, he would have been rolled up in a carpet and carried out to a waiting van on Day One.
This boy may be many things, but stupid he ain’t.
In some respects, this episode is an opportunity for the U.S. to exercise some muscle and show strength. But the chances of this happening under weak and indecisive Obama are slim to none.
The rest of the world is watching and will reach conclusions about this country’s confused leadership and lack of resolve. IMO this will prove to be a seminal event that will reverberate for years to come.
And when he does significant damage to our country from the country of a sworn enemy, the lefties will laugh at how “conservatives” called him a hero. Because some conservatives are idiots.
Well, does this mean he’ll lose his social Security?
I can’t imagine him doing more damage than Obama has already done.
does anyone have any further info on that laptop, from NASA, that was delivered to china? Was this one a rumor?
now that is taken care of lets go after the real criminals..How about first string up the murdering Muslim at Ft Hood remember the one that murdered our boys and girls..then go after the criminal Holder and Obama..Go into the white house and grab the head communist Valery and then take the Muslim Brotherhood that is in the white house. Then put the moron Biden back in the asylum..
Elections have consequences....Next time, choose wisely, America.
Another thing not getting any attention are the connections between the NSA and the contractors. Seems odd to me that no one has mentioned that James Clapper was himself an executive with Booz Allen (the company Snowden worked for)
I’m guessing Clapper walked away with a nice chunk of stock, how odd that the company ended up with that $6 billion contract. And lets not forget John Brennan and his private security background.
The only thing in this affair that I trust is Snowden’s location, down to a city area.
Everything else I suspect is disinformation.
He’s going to Iceland, is my guess.
I have a theory. I do not believe it is a coincidence what happened with the NSA leaks. First the Justice Department, then the IRS, then the drones and now this?
No, this was done intentionally to remind Americans how far it is willing to go to ensure no one rises up against the government.
Now the ammo shortages make sense.
yep, most everything is done intentionally when a power structure begins and continues a path. No disagreement.
You should add "Washington, DC" to your list.
I don’t think there are any direct flights from Moscow to Iceland. They are all via somewhere else like Norway, UK, Denmark..
Good point. This could be “them” saying this is the way it is gonna be, get use to it.
If anyone makes any noise about it, silence them.
Interesting times get more interesting by the day
It only means that they cant do it out in the open. At this point, Snowden has caused enough harm that jurisdiction should not be an issue for the CIA. Bang the hornet’s nest enough, you will get stung.
The sooner he faces the music in US hands, the better. When he decided to break his oath - especially amongst countries hostile to the United States, he lost any sympathy there was to be had.
When he is captured by the US, they need to make an public example of him. The example would be that you dont leak secrets to hostile countries(never mind him breaking his oath), no matter what administration exists. Then do the same to his enablers. It is not a pleasant thing to do, but he decided that his judgment was worth more than the harm caused by his actions.
It’s a shame that this isnt a Reagan administration that would have had no issue with grabbing Snowden at his first stop.
