IMO if the House passes any kind of an amnesty bill, the Republicans are toast because their base will not vote for their re-election.

Too much campaign cash comes from the businesses that depend on cheap labor, and the Republicans are just as guilty as Democrats.

The DIFFERENCE is: No entitlements-seeking constituency votes anything other than (D), and the hapless Conservatives who were stuck voting for "clothes-pin" (R)'s just will NOT do it anymore after Amnesty (it doesn't matter; it's too late but this will give the (D)'s a big cushion).

The comment regarding the disillusion of conservative Republicans is very accurate. The alienation between the grassroots and the Republican establishment in Washington has become a chasm. Brewer, McCain, Flake, all of whom I voted for in the past, no longer deserve my support.

I think they will make the Democrat losses in 2010 appear mild. This is going to be worse than passing Obamacare, because the Republicans aren’t even appealing to a fringe portion of the party. Some how, the Democrats got the Republicans to put their name on this very unpopular bill which is going to anger the country, and make their base go ballistic. I am sure most voters can’t even name any of the Democrats in the gang of eight, but they have most likely all heard Rubio, McCain, and Graham, as well as Paul campaigning for it. If the Republicans are stupid enough to get this through, my prediction is they lose the house by historic numbers and lose seats in the senate as well. The Republicans have put themselves in the position of being responsible for this bill, whether or not most of them vote for it, they will get the blame.

Correct! Even if my guy votes against it, but it passes, I’m staying home and the GOP can go to hell!
